"Penta water has allowed me to push beyond any levels I thought capable. Not only has it increased my performance in practice but at key times in racing. Penta is a necessary fuel to have behind you to reach your goals.”

Ed Moses started swimming at age six but didn't get serious until his senior year of high school. A few short years later he was holding two Olympic medals from the 2000 Sydney games (a silver medal in the 100m breast and a gold medal in the 400m med. relay) in addition to 11 world records.

Moses rose from a world ranking of 33rd in the 50m breast stroke in 1998 to first in 2001. This achievement is remarkable especially since he suffers from exercised induced asthma - "I don't let it bring me down at all. I look at it as a challenge to push myself to the limit." As part of his training regimen at home, he sleeps in the basement of his parents' home in Burke, Va., in a tent that simulates the air at high altitude. The tent chamber has a generator that simulates the amount of oxygen typically found at 9,000 feet above sea level.

Today Moses owns the fastest breaststroke relay split in history (under one minute) as part of world record-breaking 400m medley relay at 2000 Olympic Games. He is also the world record-holder in 100m and 200m breast (short course). And most recently (in March of 2003) he set the american record for the 200 yard breast stroke, beating the old record by exactly one second. In 2002 he became the world record holder when he won the 100m breast and placed second in the 200m breast at the P66 Summer Nationals. He was also named Outstanding Swimmer of the World Cup series after breaking five world records in three days during the series.

In 2001 Moses was ranked first in the 50m breast; second in the 100m breast; and first in the 200m breast. He won the 100m and 200m breaststrokes at the U.S. Open and finaled in all three breaststroke events at World Championships, taking the bronze in the 100m breast and placing sixth in the 50m and fifth in the 200m breast. He also won the 200m breast in the U.S. Open; broke the 50m breast world record in a time trial world rankings.

Prior to his medal-winning performance at the 2002 Olympic Game, Moses won the 100m and 200m breast at the U.S. Open; the 50m and 100m breast at World Cup 3; the 50m, 100m and 200m breast at World Cup 2. He broke the American record by winning the100m breast (1:00.44) at the Olympic Trials and fourth in 200m breast. He won the 100m and 200m breast at the Spring Nationals; broke world records three times at the NCAA Championships and won the 100m breast in the world record time of 57.66 at the NCAAs. He also broke a world record in prelims by winning the 200m breast in world record time of 2:06.40 at the NCAAs in addition to breaking the 50m breast American record in first half of 100m breast prelim swim with a 26.96. Moses is a four-time All-Star team member (1999-02; a four-time National A team member (1999-02); a1998 National B team member, and the 1998 Junior National champion in 100y breast.

While Ed Moses turned professional after the 2000 Olympic season, he still decided to continue his studies at the University of Virginia. He is currently majoring in sports medicine and is a volunteer assistant coach. He is also serving as a consultant for the development of the next generation of Speedo swimsuits, which will be unveiled before the 2004 Olympic Games. Outside of school and his professional commitment to swimming Ed plays lots of golf (4 handicap) and enjoys public speaking.
