"I truly love Penta Water, I love the taste and am able to drink more of the Penta water than regular water, thereby keeping my body better hydrated. I never used to believe in a difference between water, I always thought it was just a marketing scam, but with Penta I am a true believer. It keeps me hydrated and healthy and enables me to compete at my very best."

Muffy Davis has always had enormous drive to better her already outstanding athletic achievements. She discovered Penta water just before the 2002 Winter Olympics and we can’t be proud enough of her three Silver medals from the games. And not to be outdone, Muffy and three other paraplegic athletes made history this June, being the first to climb and reach the summit of Mt. Shasta (14,162 ft.). Using a contraption called a snow pod, a hybrid of a handcycle and a tank, it took them 7 days to summit and one to descend. We want to thank our close associates at the Challenged Athletes Foundation who provided Muffy with a grant for this adventure and are excited to see what’s next on Muffy’s agenda.

Muffy began skiing when she was three and ski racing when she was seven. Always a goal setter, when she was eight, Muffy told her mother, “God made me to be a ski racer!” and declared that she would ski race in the Olympics. As one of the top junior racers in the country and having grown up and competed closely with Downhill champion Picabo Street, it was very likely that Muffy, too, would make it to the top. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in February of 1989. While downhill training in her hometown of Sun Valley, Idaho, Muffy went off course and slammed into a tree, crushing her back and resulting in complete paraplegia. Muffy was devastated at the loss of her chances to become a skiing champion, but she was never one to stay down long. She chose to refocus her time and energy towards academics and community service. After graduating as Valedictorian of her high school class, she went on to graduate from Stanford University, where she was awarded the Alumni Association’s only award for service to the community.

While in college, Muffy had spent time learning how to mono-ski, adaptive skiing for paraplegics. Feeling as though she had unfinished business on the race course, she decided to give ski racing another shot and soon she excelled in disabled ski racing. As a member of the United States Disabled Ski Team, her accomplishments include: winning three Silver medals in the 2002 Paralympics in Salt Lake City, UT, two World Cup Overall Titles in 2001 and 2002, a Bronze medal at the Paralympics in Nagano, Japan in 1998, a World Championship in 2000 in Anzére, Switzerland and over twenty five World Cup medals. In addition, Muffy was honored by the Paralyzed Veteran's of America with their Outstanding Skier Award for her skiing accomplishments and community service.

While skiing has always been Muffy’s first love, she is also actively involved in disabled waterskiing, scuba diving, swimming, weight training, horseback riding, handcycling and various community service projects. This May, Muffy will become the first paralyzed woman to summit Mt. Shasta in Northern California using a snowpod, a handcrank machine for disabled mountain climbers. Now as a retired ski racer, Muffy is looking to begin a career in broadcasting. Additionally, she is a popular motivational speaker and freelance writer.
