“As a professional Triathlete, I know that hydration is one of the most critical components to winning or losing. Penta water is the purest and most natural water I’ve found. I’ve seen successful results in my own training and know many other triathletes who swear by Penta. I can feel how the water really does hydrate better and I do notice a difference in my performance levels.”
Eileen Castillo’s triathlon career began shortly after graduation from college. While in college she was a scholarship athlete on the University of Washington gymnastics team. After two seasons with the Huskies, she transferred to UCLA to finish out her gymnastics career. A graduate of UCLA Class of 1997, Eileen found the triathlon as a means to satisfy her hunger and drive for competition. In only her second season in the sport, Eileen managed to qualify and compete representing Team USA in the 1999 World Championships in Montreal Canada. In 2000 she began a full time career with SBC, and only had enough time for 3 triathlons. With minimal training Eileen still managed to place high enough to gain professional status although in 2001 she remained an amateur, placing top 3 in her age group each time she raced. Eileen has now made a name for herself in the professional ranks as she continues to have a great 2002 rookie season. Her ultimate goal is the 2004 Olympics.
Eileen has quickly risen in the ranks fast as seen by her up and coming places in 2002 triathlons. She took 1st Elite Overall in the Icebreaker and San Jose International Triathlons; 2nd Elite Overall at the Folsom International and Keauhou-Kona Half Ironman Triathlons and 3rd Elite Overall at Uvas South Bay Triathlon. On the Pro circuit she took 18th Pro Overall in both the Wildflower Long Course Triathlon and the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon and 17th Pro Overall at the U.S. Pro Nationals. She recently placed 9th Pro Overall in the Treasure Island Triathlon and 7th Pro Overall in the Tri-California Pro Series. And most recently, (in March) Eileen finished 4th pro in the Bay Islands, Honduras International Triathlon, her first ITU. There’s no doubt that we’ll see her in New York at the 2004 Olympic Games. Eileen’s hometown is Los Gatos, California. Back to Penta People Index |
