Purdie is in his third season with the Gulls. He won his first Taylor Cup last season with the blue and orange. Before moving to San Diego, he spent two seasons playing for the British Superleague's Ayr Scottish Eagles with teammate Mark Woolf. In addition to the Superleague, Purdie has hockey experience in the East Coast, American and International hockey leagues. Purdie enjoyed his best season in 1993-94 with the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL. That season, he scored 82 points (36 g 46 a) in 57 games. His highest goal-scoring total came in 1996-97 when he tallied 37 markers for Toledo (ECHL).
